Scott Webb
Prior to commencing a legal career, I was a Police Officer with the Queensland Police Service for approximately 13 years rising to the rank of Seargent.
Since 2001 I have practised as a lawyer specialising in commercial law and litigation as well as other practice areas.
Since becoming a lawyer I have worked in large, medium and small firms and the one thing they all had in common was a lack of flexibility. Whilst it is essential to have processes so as to ensure things are done properly, I noticed there was a lack of willingness to change those processes to suit individual client’s needs.
I noticed the same with billing. Often there was one fee structure and that structure applied to all clients no matter what that client’s circumstances were, what their needs were and what the client expected to achieve from engaging a lawyer to act for them.
I decided when opening Webb & Co Lawyers that my firm would be different. It would still have the necessary and important processes that are essential to operating a law firm but there would be flexibility so that we do not disregard each client’s needs and expectations. We also have different fee structures for our clients which we tailor to suit each client, their matter and what they want to achieve from instructing us as their lawyers in the first place.
